E TA left this review about The Pottery Hotel

Named after the Kinson Pottery which used be over the road until the site was redeveloped in the 1970s this 1930s town pub sits on it own large plot in what is now a mixed residential and commercial area. The carpark at the back is gravelled and has a severe looking security fence around it, while at the front is a small terraced seating area. The ground floor has been altered to provide a long thin bar at the back, a long bar at the front and a small games rooms with a dartboard at the side. There is a pool table in the main bar, as well as tv screens. There is a piano which was mercifully mute. Food is apparently available, but no-one was eating when we visited. The carpet on the floor looks like it would be more at home in a tyre bay, and the furniture is battered, well used but still functional. The decor is very 1970s, with painted pine, anaglypta wall paper and cheap plastic trunking for the B&Q ceiling lights. There is a good local spirit and the staff were friendly enough. The only ale on was Ringwood Best which was going off and was only juts drinkable. A decent enough local, worth dropping in if you happen to be in the area.
