Modern bar which with its GBG listing required a visit. Daytime TV decor with sea green walls and arty prints. Pleasant decked seating via sliding patio windows. Three ales on, I (eventually) had a Conwy San Francisco (NBSS 3.5). The visit was ruined by the dreadful woman running the place who specialised in curt and haughty service, treating paying customers she didn’t recognise as a litle more than an inconvenience. Shame.

Small modern café bar with opening windows to a front patio. Seems popular & is on the main high street. Good quality real ale, seems a good place

A decent enough pub on the main drag. It has no visible signage giving you the name of the place outside. Real ale available.

Archies is a modernised bar on the High Street with a frontage that opens up onto a small decked area that holds some seating. The interior consists of a bar on the left hand wall that faces ten or so tables that are located throughout the small inside. I counted four plasma screens, but only one was on which was showing a muted music channel for some reason. In the toilet is a sign saying that BT Sport will be shown from August, but there were no signs of it during my visit a couple of weeks ago.
Standard draught is available from the bar and the five hand pumps were drawing Gower Brewery’s Gold and Deuchars alongside Facer’s North Star Porter and Flintshire Bitter. The fifth hand pump was drawing Country Perry. Pub food is available and I thought that the burger and fish cake dishes that we ordered were good value for money, but the fifty minute wait was a bit excessive.

I found the service here to be extremely friendly and I would return if passing, but I will make sure that I’m in no hurry if I plan to order food.

Archies is a one roomed bar and has recently undergone a very tasteful refurbishment. The house beer is Flintshire Bitter from Facer's Brewery. Two other real ales are served, sourced mainly from local breweries, although beers from further afield frequently make an appearance.
