David Ross left this review about West Highland Hotel

With Tennent's lager priced at £3.60 a pint and three pubs selling it at much cheaper prices only a short walk away, it's hardly surprising that I was one of only half a dozen customers here on a Wednesday night. The bar itself is quite pleasant as hotel bars go, making a reasonable attempt to create a pub atmosphere. There is an excellent sea view if you're fortunate enough to get one of the few window seats, or if the weather is good enough to sit outside. Guinness, Heverlee lager, Magner's cider and two real ales, Skye Blaven and Orkney Brewery's Corncrake ale, are also on draught, but on the hottest day of the year in Mallaig, I opted to stick to lager.
