Soup Dragon left this review about The Angel Inn

A detached Banks's corner pub. It is a somewhat plain building - an extended cottge in simple cream with with leaded windows. The interior has a couple of rooms served from a central island bar. The back room seemed to be like and old fashioned bar and whilst it had a pool table that i could see, it was also designated as 'the food area'. I didn't eat so can't comment on the food. The main room that i was in is a large open space, with a slight raised area that could be used as a mini-stage. It is in cream and beighe wood panel, with patterned carpet and white ceiling and is populated by general tables and chairs. Several TVs are on the walls, although only one was on, with some general programme. Music came via the jukebox at a decent level. This room had a pool table and a dart board. A few mixed photos were on the walls and a few trophies were on display. The service was fine and a few mature blokes were in. Beer; no real ale, just general keg stuff with Banks's MILD. I had a shandy. A run-of-the-mill pub with nothing for the real ale fan. One for the locals.
