Komakino . left this review about Mr Hanbury's Masons Arms

Now re-opened as 'Mr Hanbury's Masons Arms' after a period of closure, this courted infamy with the previous landlord's flouting of the then newly-introduced smoking ban. Bought by the boutique brand Artist Residence, this 15th Century thatched former farmhouse has had a shabby-chic makeover and there's too much to describe suffice to say it offers food, drink and accommodation within its sprawling interior. Run by an enthusiastic young team, I was impressed despite an ale range limited to just Hook Norton Hooky. There were some keg concessions available from taps on the wall behind the bar and muzak was of the 50s / 60s vibe which was a nice surprise. There's a cute, contained beer garden to the left and a small courtyard out front with eclectic wood-carved tables and chairs (the building is roughly staple-shaped). Perhaps a little too much for some, I really liked this, and it's always great to see another Oxfordshire pub rise from the ashes.
