Alan Winfield left this review about Narrow Boat

The Narrow Boat was a fairly old pub that was set in a terrace, the pub was situated fairly close to the Broadmarsh centre.
Once inside this pub had three rooms, there was a small room to the left a main bar to the right and a pool room to the rear, was always had a drink in the main bar, this room was fairly long and narrow running across most of the front of the pub,the room was carpeted and had comfortable bench seating and normal tables and chairs.
This pub was a Shipstones tied house and there were two real ales on the bar was usually had a drink of Shipstones bitter which was always very nice here.
This was one of regular haunts and we always had a drink in here before going to watch Forest play.
Sadly this area of Nottingham was redeveloped in the late 90s and the Narrow Boat and the rest of the buildings were pulled down, there is now an ugly looking office building on its site.
This was one of our favourite Nottingham pubs and it is a great shame that it has now gone forever.
