Bistro style restaurant/bar, deceivingly small from the street shop front, goes back c=some way via the bistro to a more formal restaurant at the rear. Glossed wood boards there are mirrored walls to give the thin bar some depth, mixed cafe seating, maybe a nice setting for an informal meal? There is limited seating outside at the front. Laid back background music.

A terraced self-styled restaurant and bar, which has a couple of tables in the street. It is housed in one of the 'units' that made-up the frontage of the former Methodist Central Hall, which was built in 1904. It is a red brick and terracotta building, but the frontage of Annexe is a simple red and glass one, with the red brick piers separating it from the neighbouring units. The interior has a narrow restaurant area, which has a serving bar and a few stools near some steps that take you down, past a piano, to a wider restaurant area. The decor is like a dirty cream colour, with green and a wood floor. A few film star pictures are on the walls and a pull down screen was showing the B&W film, 'The Killers', silently. The music was easy/jazzy and at a decent level. It is really a restaurant (candles on the tables et al), with about 4 stools opposite the bar. The service was fine and a few people were in, eating. Beer; usual tap stuff with a German wheat beer, with Wye Vally Bitter (just gone) and a fairly non-descript Brakspear Oxford Gold on handpull (at £3.60). Whilst it does feel like a restaurant, there are a few stools and i actually liked the relaxed atmosphere. I would pop back in.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Annexe
Small rectangular room at front with Parisienne cafe-bar furniture and decor. Couple of patio tables out front. Upmarket restaurant area down a few steps at the rear. Regular 'show nights'. Doesn't look like a real ale established, but has two handpumps offering Purity UBU and Wye Valley Penthouse Ale (£3.50). Overall, a welcome addition to the area with a pleasant, relaxed feel.
