Komakino . left this review about Time

Part of a small square of establishments which serve Brentford Lock, including an Italian restaurant, a coffee house and a hairdressers (the latter two confusingly sharing the Time name) this questionable PuG entry has been discussed below, but does allow you to purchase a standalone alcoholic drink, although the choice is limited to the bottled form (a 330ml bottle of Birra Moretti for £4.25 in my case). A staple-shaped room with patio door-style windows, which likely open out during the summer, there were a few vinyl records affixed directly to one of the walls, and a small mirrorball hung from the ceiling on the right-hand side of the bar. A little bit "hairdresser chic" to the right of the bar with some pink portable uplighters and chunky candles and white-painted, Georgian-style frame and buttoned leather banquette seating in either black or turquoise. One for the hardcore PuG tickers.

I think that the inclusion of Time on PuG is a little dubious as it is a cafe. It does have a limited bottled beer selection, but so does my local kebab house.
As a cafe it is actually very nice with smart decor, a good view and friendly staff. The all day breakfast is also very nice and well worth the £6 to £7. However, I wouldn't revisit here just for a beer.

This smart little café, with a pleasant location on Brentford lock has now changed its name to ‘Time’, although this may not be the case for much longer, as the lawyers from ‘Time Magazine’ have asked them to change it. Quite why anyone would confuse a small café in Brentford with an American news magazine is beyond me.
We popped in here for a quick bite to eat before heading to Griffin Park on New Year’s Day. The place is quite well set up, with a nice open seating area for diners to the left of the front door, affording views of the adjacent lock, and some more comfortable sofa seating to the right for those wanting to relax a while. There is a typical deli menu and a small array of bottled beers. We ordered paninis which were very tasty and pretty good value and the staff were all very friendly and helpful.
I’d return here if I fancied a quick bite to eat and I imagine it would be very nice sitting at one of the tables outside in the summer, but this place doesn’t really qualify as a pub and wouldn’t be somewhere I would head to for a drink. As a café, it’s a good 7 out of 10, but for the purposes of this website it scores much lower.
