I’ve avoided Boltons in the past as this stretch of Eastbourne can get a little lively at the weekends and I was under the impression that this place is more of a nightclub. I was wandering past with some time to kill early on Saturday evening a couple of weeks ago so I decided to pop in and discovered that this is just a late bar and there is no entrance fee. There are two floors and there is a bar on each where standard draught and shooters etc. are dispensed in plastic drinking vessels. The décor is basic and there are plasma screens and a projector, but I didn’t spot any Sky Sports advertisements. The background music was modern dance and I imagine that the later it gets the louder it gets.
There is some seating out the front and at the rear there is a large beer garden. The staff were friendly, but one barmaid was a little vague when I asked what time this place shuts. I gather that it closes somewhere between 2am and 3am.

I’m a little long in the tooth to enjoy this type of late bar so I do not plan to return.
