This place was never going to be a classic being a conversion of four shops on the South side of Yate Shopping Centre which was built in 1965. Inside it's just a square room with the bar at the far side from the entrance. The furnishings are slightly better than normal. On the plus side the place seemed to be run OK and I had no trouble getting served a Steak Club with a drink. Most of the people here on a Tuesday afternoon were having something to eat.
The beer selection would have been decent if it hadn't been Xmas. The ten hand pumps had one unused, Abbot & Doom Bore doubled, Black Sheep Riggwelter and the rest were Xmas beers. I went for the Riggwelter which would have been £2.15 and was in good nick. The Steak Club was fine as well.
I doubt that I would return here but that's a lot to do with Yate being a right dump and this pub being a fair walk from Yate Station. For a modern shopping centre Spoons I thought it was OK.

Ok. 10 handpumps. 4 ciders,1 blank,4 ales over the rest- 2 Ruddles, GK Abbot, GWB Old Higby and Wickwar BOB. Took two visits to get served, first was usual one staff and coffee/ food orders nonsense. Gormless barman, me mate used a £1.50 guest ale coupon and got £1.50 off, 49p woo hoo. Aside from that, nothing to inspire a revisit.
