Will Larter left this review about The Burlington

Large town centre pub with entrances from streets both front and back. The bar has four hand pumps, with three ciders clipped to one (presumably boxed polypins) and three beers affixed one at a time to the other three. One was turned around and the available beers were Doom Bar and Abbeydale Moonshine. I went for the last named and it was in very good nick (NBSS 3.5). Handy for buses and an easy walk to the station from here, but there are better pubs nearby with more choice of cask ales.

Graham Coombs left this review about The Burlington

Fairly typical Stonegate attempt at a 'Spoons without carpets', in one large room with a pool table down the back and rather too many sports screens. At least the music was turned down to a sensible level and it was surprisingly busy on a weekday lunchtime. On the handpumps, the Abbeydale Moonshine and Doom Bar were very outnumbered by the Lilley's fruit ciders, which I am sure is not a good sign.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Burlington

Large 'spoons-a-like pub run by Stonegate, with similar food and drinks offers. The various seating / dining areas could be anywhere, but at least the pictures have a mostly local flavour. Five of six handpumps in use, offering Hobgoblin, Abbot and Hop Studio Pale (£2.90) plus two Lilley's ciders.

If you awoke from a coma in here, you would certainly think you were in a Wetherspoons. Similar menus, similar decor, similar clientele, the only thing giving it away is the live sport on the TV screens and the limited choice of cask ale. Only a couple of kids in during our lunchtime visit, but the amount of zimmer frames certainly made up for it. The pub is pretty much L shaped with an area to the right as you enter and then a long thin area with the bar on the left. At the rear there's a raised area with several high posing tables. 4 cask ales available and my pint of Brampton Golden Bud wss in good nick. This place was a lot better than I expected and I'd call in again.

A large Wethers-a-like. Plenty of seating and tables cluttered with menus. 4 handpumps on the bar and all dispensing different ales. Crying child friendly and also old age scooter friendly. When you're not getting crashed into by moody pensioners you're tripping over prams. A fairly bland place but not the worst.

Alan Winfield left this review about Yates's

Yates's is a modern bar that is situated in Chesterfields main shopping area, the pub is quite close to the church with a crooked spire.
Once inside there is a large single room, the room is wider to the front with raised areas either side of the entrance, these areas had normal tables and chairs, the bar runs down the left side, there are tall tables and chairs opposite the bar.
The room extends quite a way back with the rear area being raised, this area was popular with people having breakfasts and coffees.

There were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Black Sheep bitter which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Hobgoblin and GK IPA.
The pub had a nice laid back atmosphere on my mid morning visit.
I quite enjoyed my visit to this pub,and would definatly come back here again.
The pub has Cask Marque accreditation.
