Bar to the left as you enter in a horseshoe shape. Don't know what was further left as I didn't go there, Toilets to the right. Old Specked Hen on hand pump which was OK.

A detached and rather plain looking undressed brick pub in what was once the heart of medieval Boston. The site would have been occupied for centuries, but this looks like a funcional Victorian build, with nice etched window and a fantastic sign. The simplicity made it so inviting. There is a patio at the back.
The interior has now lost its different rooms, with one big L-shaped area instead. The room is in peach, wood panel, and exposed brick, with a white ceiling and red carpet. There is a mirror or two on the walls, but no real pictures and the seating is an eclectic mix of benches, tables, comfy chairs and settles. At the back there is a pool table and a dart board and there is a TV, which was showing daytime stuff at my visit. The music was a good mix and at a decent level. The service was friendly and there were a few locals in.
Beer; usual tap stuff with Greene King IPA and Everard's Tiger - the Tiger being well kept.
I enjoyed my stop off here and would more than happily return. Like TP and the Captain, I got a feeling this was a work in progress. Try it for one!

The exterior is attractive and inviting but the interior looks as though it has become very run down and the process of renovation has just begun. Furniture is ramshackle, carpets all over the place and fire alarms hanging by their wires.
Nevertheless, it is a popular pub and there's a very real focus on pool with a table at the back and most of the incomers bringing their own cues and discussing recent tournaments. This is encouraged by the landlord who presents a friendly face to allcomers.
Only two handpumps with Ruddles Best and a very well kept Tiger on. Finding a decent pint of Tiger in Boston is like finding a hidden oasis in a very large and arid desert and on that basis I'd happily return to the Little Peacock.

There are some fine etched glass windows around the frontage but the interior is in need of some investment.It looked like a new leaseholder has just taken the reins ,carpeting had not been cut to fit the front bar area and the Smoke Room popular with older ladies was just a collection of comfy chairs that might have come from their living rooms.The odd collection of cheap settles and worn tables completed the scene around the bar while there is a large rear room with bench seating and a pool table in the centre.
However the landlord did have his act together on the ale front,depite only two handpumps on the go,one was dispensing the ever reliable Everards Tiger at £2.80.There was also a very good musak selection,some quirky numbers and some standards.The atmosphere was typical of a drinkers local but the advise proffered by the guv'nor about the area was spot on and I would give this place a go whenever in Boston .With the interior sorted out and a wider selection of well kept real ale,this could easily out trump many nearby pubs especially those owned by Bateman's.It may even make the GBG.
