Nick Davies left this review about Janet's Bar

The bar of the Brompton Hotel, though it is run independently by the eponymous Janet, an expat American who has created a London version of a certain kind of New York bar. It is long and narrow, and decorated mainly with photographs of customers and a lot of A4 laminated notices. It is decidedly eccentric even by London standards appears to inspire either fierce loyalty or emphatic dislike. There's no draught beer, a bottle of ordinary lager will set you back around £4.50 and there's a £3 minimum charge. It's never going to be everyone's cup of tea but it's certainly a change from the two identikit Taylor-Walker branches in the locality. Open very late.
