Alan Winfield left this review about The Basin

The Basin is a large bar that is housed in a modern building.
Once inside there is a large oblong shaped room which runs the width of the building, the bar is to the rear right and faces inwards, the floor is part tiled and bare boarded, the seating is normal tables and chairs, free standing padded benches and tall tables and tall tables and chairs to the rear right opposite the bar, there is an open kitchen to the rear left.
You can sit anywhere, there were a few people in who were having meals.
The rear windows give views of the barges moored in the basin.
There were no real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Becks Vier, which went down well on a warm day.
Nothing special about this bar.

Looks more like a cafeteria than a pub. The bar is one the left as you come in ad has no real ale, just kegs. Not for me.
