Blackthorn _ left this review about Central Bar

As it’s name suggests, this is very much more a trendy bar than your traditional pub. It’s a long, narrow bar with the cream paintwork being interspersed with some rather vibrant orange and lime green. Pale wood boards are on the floor and towards the rear there are some coloured glass windows in the ceiling which are an interesting feature.

There was a plasma on the wall at the back, although this was not in use on a recent Saturday evening visit. Being mounted as it was on a bright orange wall, I would imagine anyone looking at it for too long would soon be suffering from a case of eye strain. Seating was mostly cream leather poufs with a few cream leather chairs as well.

There did not appear to be any food offered other than a few jars of nuts behind the bar, although a notice was advertising a Sunday lunch deal. Drinks wise, the choice was also limited unless you fancied a cocktail, in which case there was a menu to choose from. Unfortunately there were no ales on tap, real or otherwise, although they did have Stowford Press cider.

This is a tricky one to mark. If Cocktail bars are your thing, then this is absolutely fine, but this is after all a pub review website, and this is a long way from being a proper pub.
