Alan Winfield left this review about The Parcel Yard

The Parcel Yard is situated at the back end of Kings Cross station concourse,so very handy for a quick walk to St Pancras station.
Once inside there is a olblongsish shaped room with the bar to the rear, the main room is divided into different seating areas, all full om early Saturday evening visit, there are also corridors which have old style station bench seats.
The pub is a Fullers tied house, there was a very good choice of real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Fullers Chiswick Bitter which went down very well, the other beers i noted were ESB,London Pride and there were guest beers By the Horns Diamond Geezer /Hopster,Butcombe Bitter and Windsor & Eton Knights of the Land.
I really liked this pub,i had a drink in one of the corridors,i was half expecting to hear a steam train and whistle to go off,or Harry Potter to wander through looking for platform 9 and 3 quarters.

This large, rambling Fullers outlet is housed in the former GNR parcel office at King's Cross Station. It consists of two main bars on two floors plus several rooms, nooks and crannies. It's an interesting conversion and a good use of otherwise redundant space. Free wifi is on offer, but this time I had trouble connecting. Staff were polite and efficient, while the majority of the clientele were transients. The full range of Fuller's beers is on offer, and there is an interesting selection of bar snacks to complement the restaurant menu. There were 12 handpumps on the main bar, two with guest ales on. I had a pint of Lancaster Amber Bitter, which was in good condition. The biggest downside is the prices. It's expensive, even by London standards. OK to drop in when travelling but I wouldn't come here to eat and drink otherwise.

As a station bar the Parcel Yard just gets better and better for me as it wears in, especially when compared to the former grotty glory hole in the wall offering that used to be on platform 8 before the station refurb. Granted I tend to use it to kill some time with a last beer before catching the infrequent late evening Hertford North service, so I don’t tend to see it during its busy period, and after 9.00PM it quietens down to be a comfortable place for a decent pint, especially as you can invariably get a table in one of the side room sections.
Quality of the beers is always reliable and if you don’t fancy one of Fuller’s finest the guest ale policy is well maintained and some well-kept pints of Butcombe Bitter were had this weekend alongside Fuller’s very respectable seasonal offering of Red Fox.
It has a decent looking food menu but I cannot pass judgement on that as I have never eaten here as I always succumb to the delights offered by the pasty shop back in the main concourse before putting my life in the hands of First Capital Connect.

Interior as described below this is one of the better train station bars. A full range of Fuller's beers plus guests. Food served and the bar has a train departure screen.

There aren't many pubs housed in Grade I listed buildings, but this is one, now occupying what used to be the Great Northern Railway Parcel Depot. It really is a labarynthine affair, with loads of different rooms on different levels, with a glass roofed atrium in its centre. Nonetheless it still seems very open. The loft room at the top has all tables laid for diners, with reserved signs on all the tables - but they're not really reserved, as my companion and I were graciously allowed to occupy one of them in the late afternoon on the understanding that if they started to fill up with diners we would vacate it. Also, one of the rooms on the ground floor had tables with signs all saying "reserved from 4.30", which is a bit of a coincidence I would say. But for me this was the only negative side of this pub, as I found it a really interesting place in which to stop off for a drink.

The full range of Fullers ales was on, including the seasonal Red Fox and Traitor's Gate, plus guests in Hobgoblin, Butcombe Bitter, and Windsor & Eton Windsor Knot. This is an impressive ale selection. This one is definitely worth a visit. I think it's the best station pub I've been in.

Great review from PSM,I think this modern conversion is really interesting and worthy of inspection. The upstairs Loft Bar mirrors the layout of the lower floor but is less hectic.Judging by the large number of young professionals drinking in here late on a Friday evening, this pub and restaurant could well double up as a pick up joint besides serving those commuters looking for a quick one.

Located at the far end of the concourse at the recently redeveloped Kings Cross station, the Parcel Yard is apparently the largest station pub in the UK, built in the station’s former Parcel Office. To reach the pub you have to climb a flight of stairs, although lift access is also available. You enter into a seating area with tables set up more for diners and menus printed to look like old fashioned postcards. A corridor of sorts leads you down the left hand side of the pub with a couple of smart seating areas off it with a mix of sofa, high stool and standard seating. These rooms have neutral coloured walls and wooden flooring made from materials recovered from the original Parcel Office. The servery runs along the back wall, with a sizeable open space opposite for vertical drinking. Opposite is the pub’s centerpiece – a large flagstone floored room with internal windows on all four sides and a very high glass ceiling giving it a bright look that contrasted nicely with the rest of the pub. The seating in here is a mix of comfy chairs and high stools and on my late morning visit, there were a few people taking advantage of the natural light to read their paper over a coffee. There’s even room for a potted tree in one corner. A narrow corridor runs down the right hand side of this room, giving access to the toilets and yet furnished with low benches, which didn’t look like an appealing place to settle down. The décor includes a few bits of railway memorabilia, although not as much as I’d expected, and some brewerania.
This is a Fullers pub and on the bar there was pretty much the entire Fullers range, including London Pride, ESB, HSB, Seafarers, Discovery, Bengal Lancer, Chiswick, Black Cab Stout and Jack Frost, plus guests in the shape of Butcombe Bitter and Brains Rev James. The keg range included Fullers London Porter and Honeydew, Meantime London Lager, Veltins and Leffe, whilst the full range of Fullers bottled beers appeared in the fridge, including some from the Past Masters series.
This place is a bit pricey, which you might expect given its location, but putting that aside, I think they’ve created a really nice pub for a transient customer base to spend a bit of time whilst waiting for a train. By London standards, this is a very good station pub.

Large rambling pub at he north end of the new station concourse its a rather interesting place being part of the old building and the addition of the railway memorabelia is a nice touch.

Nice effort and a chance for real ale at a station.

A new pub within the new Kings Cross concourse.A lot of the original features have been kept and it is supposed to be the largest railway pub in the country.Several drinking areas connect the bar through a series of passageways. The usual Fuller's beers on tap with some guest ales but at £4 a pint for a 3.8 beer this is extracting the urine.Looks like they are trying to keep pace with the railway fares.
