A fairly recent (2012 I think) addition to Timbo’s portfolio. Inside it is - you’ve guessed it already - long and narrow, with the usual Spoonaroonsey décor given a woolly bent due to the heritage factor of blankets being manufactured in the town many years ago. Food was unavailable during my visit due to a malfunctioning kitchen, bet that would have hit the takings hard. Four genuine guest ales at the bar though seriously haphazard quality; my Adnams Broadside was ok (NBSS 2.5) but my companion’s Oakham Citra bore little resemblance to one of the UK’s most-loved cask beers (1.5). Much room for improvement.

This was formerly a night club called the Palace and I did find something saying a cinema before that. There was the usual outcry from existing pubs when JDW moved in over four years ago.
The small frontage gives way to a medium sized Spoons inside. Inside the bar is on the left and there is a lower area at the rear plus a small narrow seating area to the right.
The beer choice here seems to have declined since the year it opened with the JDW Trio of Doom doubled up leaving just GK Old Speckled Hen, Hook Norton Nerdherder, White Horse Village Idiot and Prescott Track Record. I went for the Village Idiot (£2.19)
which was in good condition.
Not a top Spoons in my book (it may well have been back then) but it's OK.

The Company of Weavers looks like a small Spoons from the outside but is much larger once inside.
There is a small area through the entrance which has seating, the main room is up a few steps, the bar is on the left side, the seating the usual Spoons type, the ceiling looks quite high, there is also another drinking area down a few steps to the rear.
There was a decent choice of real ales on the bar and only one Spoons regular,i had a drink of Belma Single Hop which was quite a nice drink, the other beers that i noted were Vale Maelstrom,Prescott Spring season and Doom Bar.
This is a decent enough Spoons and better than a lot i have been in.

An interesting 'spoons, a small frontage belies a deeper, wide interior. The name and décor celebrates Witney's now lost fame for woollen blankets, looms and unfinished cloth form a large part of the décor. A low ceilinged very JDW front gives way to a central section of antique pine stained woodwork with a splendid coffered ceiling and beyond that the ceiling gets higher with a frankly mad array of dangly lights formed from bobbins of wool. Looms are everywhere and there is a bucolic sculptured panel on a residual wall. Further back the floor slopes down into a sitting area with more wool and loom inspired décor plus the usual local dignatories photo and biography panels. Light fixtures are sheep based to continue the woolly theme. Some of the furniture is non spoons like with an area of 1960s style chairs among the more normal spoons furnishing. Very careful design has been employed on this job and it's well done. Beerwise there is the standard five plus five handpump line up with a good choice and quality also there were no coming soons, and just the GK IPA was doubled up. The staff were pretty good although it was a quiet time of day and there was no debris on the tables, a top 'spoons I think.
