David Ross left this review about The Robert Burns Lounge

Across the road from “Dickens,” this pub celebrates one of Scotland’s, rather than England’s, best loved writers, with a statue of the Bard in an alcove outside and pictures of him on the walls inside. Despite the name, I‘d describe it more as a bar than a lounge, although pleasant and comfortable enough. It consists of one, average sized L-shaped room, with the service area in the corner of the L. Not for the first time in my life, I was served a pint of Tennent’s lager when I’d asked for Guinness, the barmaid having presumably misunderstood my West of Scotland accent. To her credit, though, she exchanged it immediately and without quibble (which hasn’t always been the case elsewhere) and gave the lager to a regular customer free of charge. The Guinness cost £3.20, the lager £3 and Belhaven Best, Carling lager and Strongbow ordinary and Dark Fruit cider are also on draught.
