Graham Coombs left this review about Pavement Vaults

Modern cafe bar from the Pivovar group with a clutch of craft and some good cask ales. Not unpleasant and the 6 handpumps offered TT Landlord and Landlord Dark along with brews from Bristol, Fyne and Tapped, plus a Lilleys Cider.

Always worth a look in here, as they do have a good selection of well kept ales across 6 handpumps. Five ales and 1 cider on our visit, TT Landlord x 2, Oakham Citra, Vocation Rare Breed and Bristol Beer Factory Milk Stout. We went for the Vocation which was good and priced at £3.70 a pint, not too bad for the centre of town. The large opening windows were also an advantage on a warm day, also good for watching the world scurrying by.

Modern city centre bar focusing more on food, cocktails and gin but also surprisingly providing pretty decent real ale. Landlord is the regular beer plus a few rotating guests, had a reasonable Jaipur, the bar itself is trendy and popular. Table service only post-Covid.

Called in last month and found it to be a trendy bar with both cask and craft beers. Chose Roosters London Thunder which was fine.

ROB Camra left this review about Pavement Vaults

Achingly trendy bar at the top of Piccadilly. Due to the large windows and the fact that all the tables are in the windows, this is a place to see and be seen. Heavy metal chairs and tables abound. Not that much decoration around, so it echoes a bit when empty. Full of airheads who said "like" every third word on our visit. My pint of Binghams Wai-iti Wakhatu was in very good nick though and MS CAMRA's glass of Sangiovese was good qualiry as well. We'll probably call in for one again next time we're in York to see what's on the pumps.

Quite a bare L shaped interior 7 real ales and "craft keg" served. Does the job as as part of a crawl but maybe not the place for a session.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Pavement Vaults

Attractive semi-modern bar / restaurant with the bar separating a small seating area and rather larger dining room at each end. Also has two further seating areas in the vaults down a spiral staircase at one end or conventional stairs at the other. Eight real ales in a variety of styles on handpump, but on a cold day I opted for the Bristol Beer Factory Milk Stout (which was on top form). Also features some interesting keg beers too.

Trendy new bar by the people who own the Pivni round the corner. This pub has much more of a bar feel to it and is more for the young professional types. Still they have a great beer range that is kept very nicely but their pricing on some of the big branded ales is scandalous. £3.90 for a landlord is just not on, the Jaipur is over £4!! instead i opted for a pale ale i cant remember the name of for a much more reasonable £3.20 that was quite nice. All cask ales are served in their own style beer jugs a bit like the new Greene king IPA ones. There are seven cask ales in total with a good few Yorkshire brewery's.

Quite a nice bar for evening drinking but on the expensive side and a bit to trendy for my liking but worth a visit.

Old Boots left this review about Pavement Vaults

An L shaped bar on corner of Pavement and Piccadilly. It has an Ossett-like white tile and tongue & groove interior with a soupçon of exposed brick here and there. There's an open kitchen at the back- it's more foody than most in the Pivovar chain. Mostly tables and chairs, there are some high tables and wide shelves with stools - their license limits standing customers. Eight pulls of beers familiar to the York Tap etc, a good range of craft kegs and the usual beer from Bernard, I didn't notice any fridges but there almost certainly will be some well stocked ones. Busy due to location but the staff are spot on. Many women and amateur drinkers as clientele so it's a bit different from others in the group perhaps due to the food emphasis but the same high quality applies.

Will Larter left this review about Pavement Vaults

The ground floor of the old White Swan Hotel building has now been reopened as a bar, borrowing the name of another pub that was previously nearby and demolished for road widening. Unfortunately, it's a modern cafe-bar type of place which, despite the availability of real ales and a cider on eight hand pumps, is not my idea of a pub. The décor is an interesting combination of glazed tiles, bare floorboards and a stamped tin ceiling. Service is brisk and efficient, rather than friendly and welcoming - maybe that will develop over time. Toilets are downstairs - there's a choice of a spiral staircase at the front or a more conventional one to the rear - and well worth a visit for the brickwork in the cellars.
