After having the license revoked in July 2011 for drug and firearm offences (Robert Cumber, 14th October 2011, Hounslow, Heston and Whitton Chronicle) the Royal Albion now has a new manager and has reopened with the blessing of the local licensing officer. The new manager has no links with the previous management, but is under strict licensing rules which include opening hours of midday until 23:00 every day. I didn’t know any of this before I wandered in at 11:30 this morning and asked if my four year old daughter was allowed in. The expression on the bloke’s face working behind the bar was as if I’d walked in and asked him to drop his trousers so I could give him a gentle spanking. Anything to tick off a pub!

Anyway I digress; this is a small L shaped pub with a dartboard and a pool table. Sky Sports is heavily advertised, but there was no sport on the plasma as some bangra beats were blasting out. There is limited seating and standard draught, but unsurprisingly no real ale. This is a backstreet boozer that I’ll not be visiting again, probably ever.
