Graham Coombs left this review about All Bar One

Now an All Bar One and changed significantly from the last review. Located right by the entrance, this is an upmarket bar with rather dark décor and an impressive and artistic display of wine bottles. The counter bears a couple of rows of high keg fonts with the best chance for beer being some bottles from Adnams and Beavertown.

Roger Button left this review about American Bar & Grill

Anyone wishing to kill half an hour before a show at the O2 doesn’t have a great number of options when it comes to grabbing a beer. The American Grill & Bar, housed within the dome to the left of the main entrance, is one but is hardly the most pleasurable experience.

My first impressions of this shoebox were that I had stumbled on a TV warehouse by accident given the dominance of the screens on every available scrap of wallspace. Both Sky & ESPN are available and matches are shown simutaneously if the timings clash but you will have to endure unnecessarily headache inducing pounding music as a backdrop.

Bars run the full length of 2 sides which does at least make finding some bar space easier than you would expect and service was surprisingly prompt. The beers are a mainly top end lagers and continental craft beers and whilst the £4+ price tag seems a bit hefty, it should be remembered that it is still around 10% cheaper than in the arena itself which has a far more restricted selection.

Aside from the TVs, the décor is unremarkable and the furnishings scant. This is a drinking den built for the masses and seats and tables take up space! There are some sofa type benches outside on the concourse and an upstairs section that I presumed was the restaurant as I can hardly imagine anyone wanting to eat within the bar environment although the section was closed on my visit, quite handy for a Saturday night the week before Christmas with a 20,000 capacity sold out event next door.

The place is essentially a holding area for the entertainments that are on offer elsewhere in the complex and as there is little else around, it has a somewhat captive audience. It could be a lot worse and in my eyes is preferable to the Slug & Lettuce further round the concourse but for my money, a visit to the O2 means drinking elsewhere and doing a last minute trip to the venue or a quick stroll to the Pilot down the road.
