Andy Ven left this review about Royal Goat Hotel

A hotel bar accessed via the hotel main entrance but open to non-residents. The room consisted of rectangular tables and leather upholstered chairs with no arms. Half of the tables were set out for diners. The carpet was an orange fleck pattern except for lino in front of the bar.

A chalk board advertised the food menu and also daytime hot chocolate and scones with cream. There were 8 diners or so at the time of my visit on a Thursday evening. I was the only one just drinking at first but then a couple came in. The gentleman half of the couple asked for his pint to be topped up which the barman obliged without quibble.

Background music played War of the Worlds at a level that did not inhibit conversation.

This is the only ale establishment in the village which isn’t a Robinson’s outlet. Cask ales were Swampy 4.7% Premium Bitter, Purple Moose Glaslyn Ale (Crwr Glaslyn) and one handpull was unused. The tap stuff included San Miguel, Guinness, Strongbow and Carlsberg. The wine list on the tables helpfully included a wine wheel advising which wines to match with certain foods.

The place was clean and tidy and was suitable for couples wanting a quiet evening out I thought.
