Old Blue left this review about Queen Adelaide

Was surprised to see this pub open at the weekend, as it had been closed, boarded up and reportedly bought by Tesco a few years ago. A fairly spartan affair, the main room is decorated with rock and pop related posters and suchlike, with a karaoke machine in the corner, and the back room houses a pool table. On our Friday evening visit, there were two oldish men sitting at the bar, and a woman sitting down watching Coronation Street on the television. The woman promptly got up and went behind the bar to serve us when we came in, then went back to the television. There was a basic tap selection at the bar, no real ale, and I went for the top shelf instead.

Although the service was okay and they tried to be friendly, this place felt really quite uncomfortable and would have been much more so had we not been able to busy ourselves at the pool table. It is quite cheap however: with a poster announcing that all lagers are £2.80 and spirits £2.50. I hope they have better days than we experienced.
