I missed the Coach House when I visited the area back in 2011 so I was happy to pop in for my first visit on Wednesday evening last week. There was nobody working the jump as I walked in so I took the opportunity to visit the gents which is located on the first floor. On this floor I found a seating area that leads to a balcony that sits above the bay windows at the front of the pub. Back in the bar I noted the presence of Harvey’s Best and a second unused hand pump. The keg range consisted of Courage Best, Hepworth’s Saxon lager, Amstel and a standard lager range. Food is available, see opening times below.
Most of the local crowd in attendance were watching Tom Daley diving in the Olympics. The sound was muted in favour of some background music. Whilst having a nose around I spotted a Sky Sports Premier League football advertisement in the window.
I liked this pub and found the service to be very friendly so I would gladly return if in the area.

A couple of large bay windows to the front and (somewhat disconcerting) a mirrored back wall let light into what is, on the whole, a rather dark interior, with a lowish beamed ceiling.
The bar, to the right as you enter, features the usual range of kegs (Amstel seemed the only out of the ordinary offering) and a pair of handpumps: one for Harveys, the other Hepworths Iron Horse on my visit (and very good it was, too). Blackboards dotted about listed the food available.
Worth considering if you're in Rottingdean, particularly if you're heading for the beach here.
