I was disappointed to find this pub not open when I approached, at just before 1:30pm on Saturday of Easter weekend. Current opening times at 5pm Thursday, 3pm Friday/Saturday/Sunday, but they are advertising for staff, so this may change. My schedule was flexible enough to allow me to return after Matlock Town's fruitless attempts to score a goal, and I'm glad I did, because this is a proper pub with three real ales and, perhaps surprisingly, five real ciders. (The latter from boxed polypins, I guess.) I went for Peak Ales Chatsworth Gold, which was in very good condition, the others being Abbeydale Daily Bread and Dancing Duck Ay Up. This is a friendly locals pub, with quite a few still enjoying the sunshine in the beer garden, where there is a boules terrain. I wouldn't mind coming here again, though I'm not climbing that hill at 5pm in December!

Small family run local, welcomes children and dogs. Sky sports, ESPN, and traditional pub games. Nice garden with good views, well kept real ales. A good old fashioned local pub.

The Laburnam Inn is a nice looking stone built pub that is situated a bit out of the way in a quiet area of Matlock.
Once inside i went in a nice looking room that may have been a smart bar, there may have been other rooms but i did'nt look.
When i went in this pub it was a Kimberley tied house and there were two real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Kimberley bitter and this was a nice drink, the other beer was Kimberley mild.
This was a pleasant enough pub and was worth the walk here.
