A large rectangular Spoons occupying the ground floor of a modern building, which has possibly had a facelift as it seems reasonably smart. Light oak panelling makes it less oppressive than it might be and the decorations are, unsurprisingly, aviation-themed. The standard beer range was difficult to determine as the festival was on but the place seemed quite acceptable for what it is.

This is a modern Spoons set beneath a Travelodge. As a pub building it's wholly uninspiring both inside and out. It consists of a single long room and er, that's it.
The bar has two sets of five hand pumps. The right hand set had the two GL beers, Black Dragon cider, Doom Bore and Langham's Aegir. The other set had Langham's Aegir and Hiphop, Surrey Hills Ranmore, Oakham JHB and Caledonian / Baird Rising Sun Pale Ale. I went for the Aegir (£3.05) which was a superb slightly smoked porter that made the dull surroundings seem quite pleasant. This is a 7.5% beer so the price was not over the top, the standard guest price here is £2.45. I wish I hadn't had to get a train back to London as I could easily have stayed for another of these. Despite the grim venue I quite liked this one. It's GBG 2016 listed.

A quite poor effort of a pub. typical shop conversion with an unimaginative interior and an even more unimaginative beer range, ten handpumps and all usual suspect beers bar one which was Hamerpott Shepherds Warmer, not a great brewery in my book.
This pub is a total waste of space (IMO).

A more recent Spoons conversion, opening in summer 2011. Long and shallow inside. Décor fairly tasteful and RAF/aviation theme touches. Positives end here. 10 pumps with six off, so just two guests and one of those was Greene King. Went for the only one of any merit, Otter Seville, which was a bit cold but otherwise fine. Chronically understaffed, screaming kids and the like. WiFi refused to connect. Farnborough town centre is a tough place to love and this Wetherspoons kind of sums it up. If the JDW Moon & Spoon in Slough (about as a terrible a town centre as you can imagine) can manage it, why can’t this one?
