Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Market Cross (JD Wetherspoon)

In different circumstances, this standard-issue 'spoons converted from a Woolworths would hardly be worth more than a cursory note but in an otherwise uninspiring former market town (and long-standing pilgrimage centre, apparently) it is definitely the place to go for a decent pint. Even with a number of duplicated clips on the two banks of five handpumps, there were several interesting beers including two from Big Bog Brewery - the 6.0% Quagmire Premium Ale and the 7.0% Bog Super Genuine IPA - and Dark Side of the Moose from Purple Moose (like the other real ales, all normally £1.99 but luckily for me just £1.85 on Mondays).

A fairly standard Wethers. Usual Wethers fixings inside and as usual with the smaller Wethers its basically a rectangular box. 10 handpumps but 5 beers doubled up. A pretty harmless Wetherspoons.

Above-average Wetherspoon's shop conversion in pedestrianised High Street. It benefits from being furnished in a sort of baronial country house style, which gives it a pleasant feel. Otherwise usual facilities for a 'Spoon's, although food and service were both good.

This is a fairly standard medium sized shop conversion. It's a single low ceilinged rectangular room with fairly typical fixtures and fittings. I was surprised to see this only opened in 2011 as it struck me as being a rather Old School JDW.
Given that this isn't a major town it was not surprising that the beer choice was limited with five beers doubled up. These were the two GK beers, Ringwood 49'er, Brain's The Awakening and Purple Moose Snowdonia. I went for The Awakening (£2.15) which was in good nick. I thought this to be a fairly average Spoons.
