We discovered this charming pub/restaurant, whilst cycling to Alcester, and earmarked it for a visit later in the day, we were keen to sample their Thai green curry. However when we arrived they were not serving food, but the staff were very accommodating and prepared two curries for us. We didn't have to wait too long for our food, the curry was a little hotter than I would have liked, but it was well prepared and flavoursome. Unfortunately there were no real ales available, so we opted for a Guinness and a Pepsi, which came in a massive glass. After we had finished eating, we adjourned to the lovely beer garden which has a stream running through it. It was a delightful way to end our Easter weekend in Alcester.

This pub has had a couple of incarnations since AW attended and currently operates as a Thai restaurant cum carvery place. The olde worlde exterior is as olde worlde as it gets, inside the multi-room layout is partly knocked through and painted a distressing pastel shade. And on a Sunday afternoon stinks of stale gravy. The bar, such as it is, is to the right.

Not to be deterred by the lack of handpumps, and encouraged by a sign advertising 'ales', upon enquiry I was told they had Hobgoblin and Pride. A request for a pint and a half of Pride and a packet of cheese and onion resulted in a rather clueless inspection of the fridge. All I could see in that was some bottles of Doombar. At this point I abandoned the idea of a pint of bitter and resorted to eurofizz. A pint of which plus a J2O came to the thick end of a tenner. Oh and they don't sell crisps and nuts. Thus beaten we retired to lick our wounds in the very pleasant garden.

I can't think of any rational reason for wanting to return here.

The Three Horseshoes is a really nice looking bare brick built pub.
Once inside there is a largish single L shaped room, the bar faced, there is a nice beamed ceiling and the floor was tiled with a couple of rugs on it.
The seating was pew type to the front left and one large round table, there was a seperate bar type area to the right, this area was square shaped and had a pool table in the middle.
There were four real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Hook Norton Mild which was a very nice drink, the other beers were Purity UBU,Hook Norton Lion and Butcombe bitter.
There is a smart looking garden to the rear of the pub,for warmer days.
This is a very smart pub that would suit both drinkers and diners well.
