Al Bundy left this review about Hennessey's Bar

Bog standard Irish bar but without the skiddley-aye-dey decor. It was a fairly jolly day on my visit and whilst its not rubbish its not really my kind of place. Real ale has now gone so its generic fizz-u-likes.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Hennessey's Bar

Strange place - I walked right by it initially but then turned back when I realised that it was a bar. Much more modern inside than one might expect, with the main seating supplemented by a side area up one step. DJ booth at the other end. Beer garden to rear (full of snow when I visited). Sports TVs. Open late (and until 04:00 Sunday morning). Three handpumps, offering Pride (£3.20, and in rather poor condition), Old Speckled Hen and Thatchers Cider.

Modern fit out of a traditional Digbeth industrial unit, its adjacent Moor Street Station car park and in the Irish Quarter. There is a beer garden at the rear.

Basically a sports bar, including 3D, one open room with chunky furniture, light and airy. Wouldn't win any grand design awards, but serves a purpose and it is what it is.

Lots of lager pumps but includes 2 real ales - Doom Bar and Tribute - served cold.

I would be happy watching a football game here but thats about it.

Will Larter left this review about Hennessey's Bar

This is a modern conversion of the sports bar type, with a high bar, high stools, high tables and high chairs too. It's all modern wood and grey-painted walls, with, away from the bar, deep booth-type sofas and lower tables. Wide-screen TVs are all over the place.

Service is polite and efficient. There were three hand pumps, one with a cider, the others serving Fullers London Pride and Old Speckled Hen. Beer was £3 a pint, and I had a veggie burger for £4.95, which was bland but filled a space, much like the Pride - once a beer that lived up to its name but now sadly deprived of any ingredients that might actually taste of something.

A 50s looking corner pub (bar) and eatery. It looks like a former office suite, it is in undressed brick, glass and brown paintwork. There is a rear beer patio area.

The interior is a single straight room with a long pine wood serving bar and a DJ booth. the decor has grey walls, white ceiling and wood floor. There is a slightly raised area at the far end with a leather bench seat. The other seating is modern, grey comfy seats and sofas, with some high stools and two 'thrones' with rediculously high backed chairs. There are no real pictures on the walls. There are several TVs that were showing the golf They do food and it is mostly set-up for it. I had a chilli, which was decent. The music was charty based. The service was really good and the clientele mixed and it was quite busy.

Beer; usual tap stuff with some American beers and Peroni. There are two handpulls, with a decent enough Sharpe's Doombar and a Blackwater Graffiti.

It simply isn't my kind of decor, but the beer, service and food were more than fine. I will visit here again, perhaps to start a tour of Digbeth - it is great if you like the modern look.
