Rex Rattus left this review about The Rose

There’s no real ale on offer here – just the keg version of London Pride (£3 a pint) and the usual standard lagers, although unusually they did have Kingfisher on tap. This looks like a shop conversion bar/pub. The walls are painted purple which makes it seem a bit eerie; and decor amounts to a few black and white photos. There was a large pull down TV screen at the front of the pub, plus several other TVs around the place, all showing something from the Olympics of course. “Karoake with Darren” is advertised on the back wall.
The bar counter is up on a raised platform to the right of the room, and furnishings consist of standard wooden (but not upholstered) chairs and plus pine coloured tables. Comfort is definitely at a premium in this very basic bar. As you would expect, there are fruit machines and a juke box. This sort of bar is not really my cup of tea, but it clearly has some appeal as there were several drinkers imbibing at around noon today.
