Soup Dragon left this review about Lilly Malone's Lounge Bar

A small terraced cream painted brick lounge bar, next to the boarded-up Spread Eagle pub. It has no patio area – people just smoke out front. The place is a former wine shop, but is known locally as ‘the bogs’ as it was a former public toilet and the site of the tram waiting room many years before.

The interior is one long room. You walk past the bogs (ironic) to find the room open out and the serving bar to the right. This area is a bar area and is in cream and grey painted brick, with an exposed brick floor. Up a few stairs is a raised lounge. It is in a chocolate colour, with salmon and cream floor tiles. Both area have a white polystyrene ceiling tiles. There are a few tables and sofas up top, with a dart board, large screen TV (not on) and a large, but smaller TV, with no vision but supplying sound from Emmerdale or something. There were mirrors on the walls and eclectic pictures all over, with a few horse racing ones, some Victorian prints and some bistro style. The service was fine and the clientele mature, all playing a dominoes match.

Beer; no real ale, all general keg stuff, with Banks’s MILD. The chap mis-heard my ‘bitter shandy’ as a snakebite, but he changed it without quibble as I nearly choked.

A basic bar that I guess gets lively on weekends with karaoke etc. One for the locals.
