Will Larter left this review about The Mount Inn

Situated above and a little distant from the centre of the stunningly lovely village of Stanton, the Mount Inn is difficult to appreciate or photograph as a building because it is shielded by walls, trees and a car park. Entry is in fact through the sheltering branches of the tree which effectively hides the front door. Once inside there is a small bar counter, with another in the next room that is open at busier times than when I was here. Service was pleasant and efficient, if a little hurried, and my pint of Donnington BB was in good condition; the alternative was their Cotswold Gold.

Possibly being a bit harsh with a 5 star rating but have a look at latest TA reviews for balance.

They are insisting with covid QR code ordering and have closed the pub interior. This may be OK if the landlady had been more welcoming. She is obviously bored solid with explaining to tourist - for this is the main client base.

The system is pointless when the young staff have to lean all over pensioners to do the ordering for them.

This, and a mixed up food order for the Stroud Cycling Club on the next table made for an unpleasant experience.

The Costwold Gold was in good condition, in comparison with the other Donnington pubs I had visited.

Yet another gorgeous Donnington pub, in an absolutely idyllic surrounding.

The Mount Inn is in a really nice looking village and it is up the hill at the end of the village there is no through route here.
Ths pub is built with cotswold stone and looks quite nice from the outside.
Once inside the bar area was facing this had a stone floor and a large fire place that had been used recently, there was a lounge through an open doorway this was carpeted the seats near the windows had great views over the village and further this room was carpeted.
We had a drink in the bar as the lounge was full with diners, this is a Donnington tied house and there were two real ales on here i had a drink of Donnington SBA and this was a very nice drink the other beer was Donnington BB.
There was an outside drinking area that was fairly busy and this had the same great views as the lounge.
This was a really nice pub in a great location with great views and well worth a visit
