A very hospitable roadside inn with a fine local spirit and a warm welcome for passers-by, laid out as described by BrewGuru, below, and currently run by Stonegate. There is a gaming machine in the bar now, and there is a large conservatory at the back which may be the function room to which BrewGuru refers, as well as a separate skittle alley. The staff were very friendly and chatty, the regulars very happy with our presence. Food looked like good value but we didn't eat so can't comment on the quality. Two ales on, London Pride and Doombar, both in very good condition. I'd be very happy to call in here again next time I'm passing.

Average roadside country pub at the end of the village. Friendly welcome, ales always kept well, the food is basic pub grub but reasonably priced.

An unexpected gem of a pub. Right on the main road through the village it does not look that appealing with a small seating area behind a low wall in front of the pub. Inside though the low ceilings with exposed beams, nooks and crannies and open fire make this a very intimate and cosy pub. The pub splits into 2 at the front door with a central servery in front. 3 real ales, Doom Bar, Otter Bitter and a guest which was proper job. Chips were good. There is also a large function room, and an even larger garden towards the back which is available for camping and caravans on the field. Childrens play area as well, so probably not a nice peaceful garden if you want to avoid kids. Oh and the pub also doubles up as the village shop. As I said - an unexpected gem.
