Oggwyn Great left this review about Chequers Inn

14th Century coaching Inn tucked away in the corner of a pretty little village , the pub does not look that old from the outside but once inside there are plenty of clues to its age , as you enter there is a small snug to the right divided from the rest of the pub by the skelatal remains of an old wooden beamed wall , the main bar is to the left with some high modern tables and stools to the left of the room and the more traditional bar and bar stools to the right , at the end of the room is an old black cast iron cooking range , there are plenty of old beams showing the pubs age .
A low beamed narrow doorway leads to the dining area which has lots of beams but is very modern in feel , there is a large beer patio and a small childrens play area to the rear .
Beers were the usual keg taps and three handpulls with Black Sheep , Thatchers Heritage Cider and a reasonable Doombar , the pub is very food led but the service in the bar was fine for those just wanting a drink .
Customers were virtually all of the early retirment , index linked variety but were friendly enough .
Its OK in here
