Steve of N21 left this review about Bedford Arms Hotel

This is more an 18 bed hotel than a pub, but does have a comfortable bar and restaurant open to the public, therefore does provide the second beer drinking opportunity in the village of Chenies along with the Red Lion up the road. Allegedly each room is named after a relation of the Duke of Bedford, whose family has an historic association with the property
There are two bars, a lounge for hotel residents and a comfortable, wood-panelled restaurant.
The Shire Bar is the public Bar to the front of the hotel and is a decent enough wood panelled space for a beer. The bar does support 4 real ale hand pumps but these were doubled up with two CW Bombadier and 2 Directors pumps on my visit.
So the Red Lion up the road certainly scores better from a traditional pub experience with a better beer choice, but the Bedford Arms Hotel has a certain olde worlde charm and a better external beer garden for an alfresco pint.
