A very dark narrow interior with a lower area at the rear. 2 real ales served. A good bottle beer selection advertised.

Wow, this is an odd place that has taken the Hove penchant for lighting up bars with a red hue to an extreme. It is quite cramped inside and although it wasn’t very busy I still had to squeeze past a group of people sitting in the seating that runs along the left hand wall. The bar is on the right hand wall and stocked with premium draught alongside Guinness and a lone hand pump that would have been drawing Dark Star’s Hophead if it was working. There is an extensive list of speciality bottled beers and also a shooter and cocktail menu. I didn’t spot a television, but there was some background music playing. There are different things going on each evening which include a jazz forum on Mondays, Life drawing in the back room for a £5 charge every Tuesday, open mic on Wednesdays, world cinema on Thursdays and Sundays and Yehaa, whatever that is, on Fridays.

This place isn’t my cup of tea at all and I think that I stuck out like a sore thumb whilst I knocked back my half. Will I return?... erm… No.
