Quinno _ left this review about Milk

Milk is the new(ish) name for Afroba. No massive changes inside. You can buy cocktails (that come in milk bottles, ho ho). Now has a decent selection of bottled ales and ciders. Does DJ nights etc and is quite a popular haunt for the younger and (dare I say this about Reading?) hipster crowd. Tucked just off the main drag means that the late-night loonies don't frequent the place so is a safe bet for a decent late evening drink.

Finally ventured in tonight after four years or so. A change of ownership means that opening times in this little side-street bar are becoming more normalised which probably explains it! Up a flight of stairs is a converted loft with a rudimentary bottle bar at the far end. Drink selection was more adventurous than I expected. Plenty of spirits but also a good selection of bottled ciders and lagers. One negative was the bottled ale choice which was blander than a Barratt show home (Greene King IPA!!). I plumped for a bottle of Chang which was £3.30. Atmosphere is a laid-back vibe, with a mish-mash of seating and old soul vinyl being played from a prominent turntable. I also got a friendly hello and goodbye. It was alright here and if they make an effort to get some local bottled stuff in (Bingham's, Loddon, West Berks, Ascot, W&E...) I reckon I'd pay a return visit.
