Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Molly House

Set back by one block from the busy Canal Street pubs in the Gay Village area, converted into a café-bar in 2010. Alehouse-style bar up a few steps from the road, with a bigger lounge bar upstairs that also has a small balcony (that can be a sun trap if you are lucky with the weather). Duplicated selection from the five handpumps on each counter, featuring First Chop's MCR, Hop Pale Ale from Blackedge (£4.80), Big Trip's Non-stop Disco Pangopack, Distant Hills Escapade oatmeal stout and a Lilley's cider.

Another poor Manchester CAMRA GBG pick and by gosh there are a few. It’s a basic small single room place, pretty spartan with exposed brick and a too-good-for-you feel. Three cask on the go, my Distant Hills Distant Sessions was a tart lukewarm mess (NBSS 1.5). Dumped it and moved on.

This seems to drop in and out of the Good Beer Guide with some regularity. It is in the 2023 edition, hence the reason and a chance to finish off the city.

Traditional looking pub exterior. Ground floor opens to a smallish room with bar next to an open kitchen. Half a dozen "dining room tables". Unisex toilet.

Upstairs more fancifully decorated and an outdoor terrace (worth remembering for the summer).

Five cask hand pulls on and my Manchester Brewery Free Trade Pale Ale was in fine nick.

A reasonable selection of ales. Trouble was my glass was a bit warm. Could merit a revisit.

I only went in the small ground floor bar so have no idea what the rest is like. This was very small with all wood stools and chairs. A total of 4 tables were here. The bar had 6 handpumps with one for cider. An open kitchen was adjoined to the right of the bar. A large mural was on the side of this pub.

Now six handpumps on each of the two bars with the same beers on each floor. A more adventurous selection as well with no Beartown beers on yesterday. My pint was in good nick again. Rightly listed in the CAMRA GBG2015.

Two storey bar in the Gay Village. The downstairs bar has some comfortable leather chairs, a couple of benches and some high stools. On Saturday 1940's music was playing in the background and a large screen TV was on mute showing the England/Ireland rugby. The upstairs bar, called Bordello is a larger space and has a varied selection of seating plus an outside verandah for smokers. 80's music playing in this bar also at a sensible volume so you can talk. The same beers are available on both bars, these were Deuchars IPA plus Beartown Ginger Beer, Kodiak Gold & Black Bear. The two pints I had were both well kept and the other half says the wine was good as well. The cask ale is all served in dimpled mugs. Friendly bar staff and a real mix of clientele made for a relaxed atmosphere, which is why we stayed for two. We will definitely call in again.
