Quinno _ left this review about Pig Iron Tavern

Large drinking barn opposite the Spoons which had a steady crowd of smokers outside as we observed it from the relative safety of the Timbo Tavern. Seeing as it seemed to be the only other pub in P’talbot serving cask according to WhatPub, we made the decision to brave the welcoming committee and head inside. Pretty bland, though a small amount of dark wood panelling broke things up a bit. As low-brow as expected with pool, darts, muted sports TVs, thudding music and lubricated locals including the usual suspects who needed a quick trip to the loo every few minutes. Perhaps surprisingly a cask was indeed on, Rev James, which perhaps even more surprisingly was pretty decent (NBSS 3) though the glass was dirty, blackcurrant juice must have been spilt on it so I ended-up with the occasional sickly-sweet mouthful. However at 2 quid for the pint I decided I couldn’t be arsed to try and get it sorted. Mrs Quinno spotted keg Murphy's, a real rarity these days, so we had one of those as well. Filed under ‘could have been worse’.
