Alex Conway left this review about Revolucion de Cuba

Revolution De Cuba is a new bar housed in the former bar circle on Market Street. This is part of a chain of pubs that acts as a spin off from the usual revolution chain and in my option is positioned as a slightly more premium alternative to the ever growing chaviness of their regular establishments. Food is available throughout the day but this is much more of a night time venue. Since the takeover the entire building has been renovated opening a very large upstairs are whereas before there was only the ground floor. You enter up a few steps with the main room to the right hand side. This is one large oblong shaped room with a very long bar running along the back wall with large shelves being stacked full of exotic spirts and the sort. As you enter there is also a very grand marble staircase that leads up to a second floor with a further two rooms, a more reserved bar with seats and quieter music for sitting and relaxing and another large oblong shaped room with much heavier dance music and dimmer lights that was very much like a nightclub. The bar does not charge an entrance fee and as I have deducted there is a reason for this, the prices are ASTRONOMICAL!!! I can honestly say this is the most I have ever paid for a beer in my entire life. Admittedly it was not just the basic cooking lager on offer but £5.30 for a pint of Camden Pale if criminal. I cannot believe these sort of prices are being charged in Nottingham as this is more than I have ever paid for a beer in even central London. There were a few other beers on offer as well as Heineken. This is really not my sort of place but was absolutely packed to the rafters, do these people not realise how badly they are being ripped off? I only went in as I had an hour wait late at night for my bus and a party of people I knew went In. I went, I paid and I shall now no longer be going back. Those who like this sort of place will love it, those with sense or those who know about the value of money will not.

Alan Winfield left this review about Bar Circle

Bar Circle is in the basement of this large old building which used to be the Black Boy .
This bar opens in the evening and caters for the pre club crowd with cheap shots and other drinks promotions.
There is one room that is'nt that big and when busy can seem a bit claustrophobic.
There are no real ales availble here.
