E TA left this review about The Globe

A 15th Century coaching inn which still offers B&B. The interior was extended in the Georgian period, giving it high ceilings and a rather grand interior. There are paved outside areas a the back and sides but no proper garden. The bar is open plan, mostly, a large U-shaped room with a small snug at one end and a couple of seating areas in wide corridors at the sides. The landlord and landlady were very friendly and helpful while the young staff looked after us very well. Food was excellent value – standard pub grub plus Sunday roasts and tapas - and the clientele were civilised. The one thing that let it down slightly was beer quality – Exmoor Avocet had gone off, and the Exmoor Ale, while drinkable had seen better days. Well worth a visit for lunch, and I do hope the beer quality was an anomaly.

The Globe is more of a restaurant than a village pub. Last time I ate there there was a card on the table inviting the diner to nominate it for the which restaurant of the year!!! Its not quite that standard. Having said that, the food is ok and there is a good selection of usually 4 local ales such as Cotleigh, Quantock, Otter, Exmoor, O'Hanlons, and the ever present Doom Bar, and some less common ales form farther afield, like Bristol.
