The Bowling Green has a large L-shaped bar in the left side of the pub that supports two banks of three handpumps, with Greene King Old Speckled Hen and TT Landlord being the cask ale options. There is also a standard and premium keg range. This bar faces seating that runs under the front windows and steps at the left lead up to a pool room. There is fireplace and more seating to the right of the entrance, where a small group of vocal locals had assembled during my recent early Thursday evening visit. There is another room in the front right that houses another pool table, that was covered, and there is a jukebox that was playing some background music. Out the back is a beer garden with a lawn and picnic tables.

This pub is in a nice setting in what feels like a mews with some trees up one end. So I was a bit disappointed when I entered as the interior is bland with a definite need of some TLC and the bar counter looks like one of the locals has knocked it together in ten minutes. I wasn’t a fan and don't plan to return.

This is clearly an old pub that is rather isolated in a quiet backwater of Nantwich. There are some old Wilsons lamps above the doors. A glance at a couple of the earliest editions of the GBG reveal that it was featured in the 1970s. Given that Wilsons ended up as part of the old Watney empire I wasn't at all surprised to find that it had all been knocked into one room that winds around a large central bar area. There is a pool table in a raised area at the rear right.
The bottom end of the bar has three hand pumps which had Robinson's Overhang, TT Boltmaker and Brain's Rev James. I went for the Overhang which was sour and rank. The replacement Boltmaker wasn't much better so I ended up with a John Smith's Smooth crap. On the basis of this visit I wouldn't return. It looks to me like a fine old pub has been completely trashed.

Hidden away behind a church. This is a quiet little place to have a drink of an afternoon. The beer garden out back could do with a spruce up but otherwise a fairly decent pub. Real ales available.

The Bowling Green is a decent looking pub that is in a quiet area of Nantwich.
Once inside here the pub was quite nice with beams and a couple of rooms, there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Courage Directors which was a decent drink the other beers were Bombadier and Websters bitter.
I thought this was a nice pub to have a few drinks in.
