Old Boots left this review about Victoria Inn

Double fronted pub opposite the railway station up a side street beside the Merry Widow. A central corridor leads to rooms to left and right, counter to the right through an arch. Six pulls here with Leatherbritches and other smaller breweries. The left hand room just has a selection of keg beers. Both have nice fireplaces, traditional furnishings and Victorian style. The right hand room is probably more cozy the left a little plainer.

Blue Scrumpy left this review about Victoria Inn

Almost directly opposite Derby train station are 3 pubs. Whilst the Waterfall and the Merry Widows are the most conspicuous, the Victoria is situated just beyond them and tucked away a little out of sight. I'd never given any of these pubs any consideration to visit until last weekend.

The Victoria has a couple of basic rooms at the front, with a much larger space for hosting gigs in a room to the rear. There is also an enclosed patio area for outdoor drinking at the rear.

New owners took over around 1 year ago and have started selling a good varying selection of real ales and ciders. Leatherbritches Dovedale & Bounder are the regular beers. Guests on during our visit were Leatherbritches Bespoke, Burton Town Modwena, Little Brewing Company Foxx & Tollgate High Street. However, it was the large selection of bag-in-the-box ciders stacked up behind the bar that drew my attention. The landlord told me that when it gets down to just 10 ciders, they add 5 more. So, there should always be between 10-15 on. During our visit, there was Kent Cider Company Perry, Yowler, Discovery, Vintage Russet, Copia, Gala, Bramley, Rhubarb Cider, Midsummer Berry, Mango Cider, Lemon Cider & Unity & Ashover Apples & Pears, Kingston Jack & Ashover Pippin.

With their being a few ciders I'd never tried before, I sampled a couple of the Ashover ciders despite a long day of pub crawling ahead. The Kingston Jack was not a particularly easy drinking cider, whilst the Apples & Pears went down much easier.

Despite its very basic interior, this was possibly the best new discovery for us in Derby. We enjoyed our visit, so much so that we returned much later in the day for another swift one before crossing the road back to the station. Along with the Brunswick and the Alexandra up the road, the Victoria should very much considered when arriving or departing Derby by train.

Real Ale Ray left this review about Victoria Inn

This pub reopened its doors in July this year and I found it to be quite a pleasing pub. The interior consisted of a small lounge on the right hand side with fireplace and small bar displaying six handpumps. The left hand side room was slightly larger with a side bar area. The decor in here was a mix of dark blue painted walls and white painted walls. Black floor covering, black settees and silver painted woodwork and mirrors.
The beer line up was Leatherbritches Berry Dangerous, Boundry, Dovedale and Shafted. Plus Goffs Brewery White and Black Knight and a choice of six ciders. So all in all well worth a look in and its close to the Railway Station.

A music venue with some pictures of bands that seemed to have played here. Nine Black Alps was interesting. Fantastically there was a photo of Half Man Half Biscuit so that'll do me. The actual pub? Crap.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about Victoria Inn

Music pub, located close to the railway station, with two rooms set around the bar area and the compact venue to the rear. Decorated with band photographs and concert posters. Also has a narrow patio area at the front. Three real ales on handpump, including a decent pint of Marston's Pig 'n a Poke (£3.30). Overall, rather more interesting than I was expecting.

This is quite a surprising pub. You enter into a small bar with a couple of seating areas to the left and right. The walls are covered with adverts and photos of gigs both past and in the future. As you look around you think "Where on earth do they put the band?" Then you notice a sound proofed door. There was no real ale on the bar, so I had a pint of lager and ventured though the doorway. At the rear is a decent sized venue with a small stage. Just behind the door are a few steps down so watch out for these as the venue is pretty dark. There was a rock/post punk band playing on the stage who weren't bad at all. In fact I think the lead guitarist could go on to bigger and better things. I drank my pint and listened for about 30 minutes and thought that it was a bit of a bargain getting a gig thrown in for free. I'll definitely call back to see who's playing on my way back to the hotel in future.
