A beautiful looking (former pub), now a Bistro with a bar , a couple of keg fonts plus bottles in the fridge, I tried to get served but nobody seemed to be manning the bar, just waitresses rushing back and forth to the outside eating area, I decided not to hang on.

Tris C left this review about The Turk's Head

A pub has been here since the start of the 18th century, rebuilt in 1927, with very fine surviving Taylor Walker glazed tiling. It had closed by the late ‘70s, with an old photo showing it daubed with graffiti, some courtesy of the National Front. It reopened as a workers’ café in 1993, but is now essentially a very swanky restaurant and possibly bar, geared towards cocktails, with photos on the website.
On arriving, most customers were seated outside, leaving a majority of tables unused and a few stools to the bar. I asked the barman if I could just have a drink, but he told me I had to book a table with the woman standing a few feet from me. So, in effect, I would have to go over to her, ask if there was a spare table – at almost 9pm – to which she would have replied ‘Yes’, then she would escort me to a table which I had been standing next to a few seconds earlier, whereupon I could have ordered a drink, from the three unclipped fizz taps. Customers were incomers, probably owners of all the Porsches* that punctuate the area and judging by the noise, there appeared to be caged birds somewhere on the premises.
Even if – and I emphasise if – it’s possible to just have a drink here, it’s really not worth the bother. Go to the Prospect or Town of Ramsgate and find yourself a real pub with real ale and credible service.

*I’ve just noticed that the pub’s website gallery has a 911 posed outside.
