Will Larter left this review about The Goat Inn (Tafarn Yr Afr)
Handily placed on the A487 just before our turning to Criccieth, this was a convenient stop on our cycle ride from Bangor. A good-looking stone-built pub with no apparent village to provide a regular trade, it's no surprise that it has a large car park and relies heavily on meals.
There are two hand pumps and also two fonts selling smooth versions of Robinsons beers. The only real ale was their Unicorn, which was a little past its best but still drinkable. We sat in a pleasant room before the bar, which was made of rough timber. There's a solid fuel stove and numerous horse brasses decorate the beams. In the dining room to the left, potential diners would have been regaled with some quite loud and heavy rock music.
