This is now part of the Las Iguanas chain. It's mainly a restaurant and the food we had was pretty good. There's also a small bar to the right at the front where two couples were sitting and just having a drink. The only beer on draught was Brahma though. It's probably better now than when it was a pub!

Good looking bar with lots of bare brick and a great looking back room (The Bakehouse). There's a large outside are at the back, but for some reason all the plants are plastic. There were 3 handpumps on the bar serving Pedigree, Morland Original and Courage Bitter. I had a pint of Pedigree and went to sit in the plastic garden. Two minutes later I was back at the bar as the Pedigree was crap. They changed it for a Morlamd, it was vinegar. This was then changed for a Courage Bitter which was OK. Nice looking pub, shame about the beer.

The Almanac is a fairly large pub that is on the opposite corner to the Limes.
I did'nt like the look of this place from the outside and i was expecting fizzy beers on the bar i was wrong.
Once inside the pub is very large, there is a smallish front area which has got a mixture of seating the bar is in the middle section to the right, the middle area looks like it has been newly built between two older buildings, the room has got a very high sloping ceiling with skylights, the pub has nice looking bare boards throughout except for the rear section which is carpeted this is in an older looking building, there is also a mezzanine which is in the new area this is carpeted and had normal tables and chairs.
The pub has air conditioning which was nice on a very warm day, there were plenty of TVs on the walls but all were quiet showing the news with hand signs.
To my surprise there were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Morland Original which was a decent drink and a bargain at £1.70 a pint the other beers were Sharps Doom Bar and Bombadier.
I quite liked it in here but this was on a Wednesday afternoon.

Derby's best kept secret on a wednesday night, with fantastic offers of 2-4-1 cocktails and jagerbombs, £1.50 pints, £1.50 spirit and mixers, and real ales on tap. As well as having an absolutely fantastic Kareoke booth available for hire.
You'd be mad not to get yourself down there any day of the week!!
