Graham Coombs left this review about Cook House

A modern family carvery restaurant in an old pub by the station. Clean, bright and characterless furnishings throughout, and a large tabled terrace and children's play area outside. The handpumps were labelled Doom Bar and Theakston's Lightfoot, however the bar person couldn't manage to dispense either. Probably use only if eating with the family or waiting for a train.

Offa's Tavern reopened as the Cook House Pub and Carvery in May 2015 after an expensive refurbishment. Real Ale now available from national breweries.

Steve C left this review about Offas Tavern

The Offas Tavern is a large pub with a bar to the right rear of the entrance that was closed during my visit on Sunday afternoon a couple of weeks ago. I did peer through the window and noted that there is a pool table and a plasma screen.
The larger main bar area is found to the left of the entrance. There is a raised seating area that houses some seating and a dartboard that had a sign on it saying ‘match play only’. I didn’t notice another board so it was a good job I left my arrows at home. There was also some disco equipment set up which I imagine is used on Friday and Saturday nights when this pub hosts drag karaoke. Beyond the bar area are some children’s toy vending machines that every parent hates and beyond here is a pool table. There is a plasma screen in the bar area that was blasting out some music channel complete with adverts meaning that the handful of other punters had to raise their voices to converse with each other. Thankfully the jukebox wasn’t also blaring out pop songs.
At the rear of the pub is a covered smoking area and more seating can be found down the side of the pub. An A-board advertises the weekly Sunday quiz that starts at 20:30 and the pool and dart knockouts that take place at 21:00 every Monday and Tuesday respectively. There is a late license until 2am on Fridays and Saturdays.
Food is usually available, but during my visit the kitchen was being renovated so the heavily advertised Sunday carvery was unavailable.

During my long weekend stay in Prestatyn I went to all seven pubs and bars in the High Street area and this was by far the worst.
