This is an old pub not far from Brunswick train station. A very Victorian place it is made up of 2 rooms that I saw and though not in the best condition you could see that the splendour was there years ago. The room I was in was a thin room that was L-shaped. The pub is side on to the River Mersey so you have to stand outside to see views over the river.

This large prominent pub was built, partly on rocks in the mid 19th century and sited inland from the famous Herculaneum Docks and offers splendid views across the Wirrel. The pub got the nickname peglegs after a colourful past Landlord with a wooden leg,and was frequented by crews and captains of sailing ships that used to dock nearby. The pub is a bit tricky to find and is tucked away behind a new housing estate, but after a bit of a wild goose chase managed to locate it,and was looking forward to seeing the Mosaic tiled corrider and the other interesting internal features, but no such luck as the pub had not opened yet.
