CLOSED Salford pub which was built in 1899 on the site of an earlier one that was built in 1805,the year Nelson died at the Battle of Trafalgar. This ornate building is one of Salfords landmarks and has been subjected to something of a campaign by business leaders and residents objecting to it being converted to flats. When the pub closed in 2003 there were still many original fittings still intact.

Ye Olde Nelson as it was called when i went in it looked like a very large old ornate pub from the outside, once inside the pub was a lot smaller than i thought it would be,there was one longish narrow room that i noticed this was a decent enough room to have a drink in.
The pub was a Whitbread tied house and there were three real ales on the bar,i had a drink of Chesters bitter and this was a decent drink the other beers were Trophy bitter and Boddingtons bitter.
