Palmer's village pub that is popular with walkers and diners.

We were first in, before another elderly group arrived for lunch. The chef was preparing a pie special.

Table service is still the order of the day here. Dorset Gold & IPA was the real ale selection.

A secluded village pub down a muddy country lane, currently owned by Palmers. There is a good sized car park and a large, pleasant garden with plenty of seating. Inside, the main bar is carpeted and has a notice asking walkers to remove muddy boots. There are exposed timbers, a large brick chimney breast with a welcoming wood burner, and a few tables for diners. The bar stools seem uncomfortably high, presumably to encourage people to sit. A bowl of water is available for dogs. There is a separate dining room. Food is locally sourced and freshly cooked, and it’s good value. Ales on were Copper and Gold, plus 200 in bottles. There was a wine list, but this was disappointing. The landlord and landlady were welcoming, but a couple of the locals less so. It’s a pretty good pub which sells decent beer, well kept, and it’s well off the beaten track in a great location, so well worth a visit if you’re not in a rush.

One of the picture - perfect pubs you get in this part of the world, thatched roof, stone flagged floors, low celings, village setting nestled in a lush green valley. Lots of people were here dining but I can't comment on the food. There is also a good sized beer garden. Beers were from Palmers, being one of their pubs, Copper, Best, Dorset Gold and 200 on. Thatchers Gold was the solitary cider. Despite not realy being a fan of the beer I liked this pub.

The New Inn is in a very small village that is a couple of miles walk from Beaminster.
This is a Palmers tied house that has a thatched roof making this look like a really nice country pub.
Once inside the bar area has a stone floor and cottagy type seating which makes the pub seem quite cosy there is also a lounge cum dining room which is carpeted.
There were three real ales on the bar i had a drink of Palmers best bitter which went down well after walking here the other beers were Palmers 200 and Dorset Gold.
This is a really nice pub to have a few drinks in.
